Casey van Stappen is the second IMPRS-RECHARGE student to defend his dissertation since the founding of the Research School in 2015. The title of his doctoral thesis, which he defended on 17.06.2019 at the Ruhr University Bochum, is "Fundamental and Practical Spectroscopic Studies Towards Understanding the Electronic Structure and Reactivity of Nitrogenases". After Lukas John, Casey is the second graduate of IMPRS-RECHARGE. Casey was a PhD student in the group 'Inorganic Spectroscopy' under the supervision of Prof. Serena DeBeer and will remain in the group after completing his PhD thesis as a postdoc at MPI CEC.
